Based on Colin Clark’s memoir of his time as Laurence Olivier’s assistant during the filming of The Prince and the Showgirl.
Michelle Williams is the highlight to this film. I think she topped the performance of Marilyn. Williams also humanized Marilyn. I felt as if I understood her and the choices she made. I also understand that Marilyn was an act and because of that she had a hard time figuring out if people loved Marilyn or Norma Jean. It was a beautiful tribute to an actress with demons. It made me want to run away with the circus.
